My students will be designing and creating the beginning of a community garden. While students design, create, and construct their community garden they will apply many academic skills. While measuring and creating beds for growing vegetables and plants and building table benches for participants to work and sit at while in the garden, they will apply and deepen math skills. Science concepts and knowledge will be learned and applied while tending their garden beds. While working together with people to accomplish a common goal, my students will develop and strengthen those social emotional skills that have suffered in the shadow of COVID.
