Dramatic play is a learning technique that allows children to assign and accept different roles as they act them out. In essence, they are using their imagination skills to take on the role of someone else. Role playing scenarios allow students to enhance life skills including expressive language, social skills, and empathy. They can learn through the hands-on approach and through purposeful play. The children are encouraged to see things from another's perspective. Lessons learned through this creative process will better prepare them for real life experiences that they will face throughout their adolescent years and into adulthood.
