My field of art education has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in complex ways. In June, the Department of Education issued a report documenting the effects of COVID-19 on American students. The report states that “nearly all students have experienced some challenges to their mental health and well-being during the pandemic and many have lost access to school-based services and supports.” Arts education properly supported can play a vital role in recovery, especially for children in our hardest-hit communities. The project of printmaking is an artistic process that will help students learn new techniques, enhance fine motor skills, and explore themselves as future artists. The resources provided will allow students to practice learning something new and emphasize our school character.
