Since Covid has hit nothing has been the same. Everyone has been affected by it. The transition from classroom learning, to virtual, to hybrid, to classroom to virtual etc has our students out of their routines and anxious as to what might happen next. On top of that they are carrying the weight of their home lives into our classrooms. More than normal. Job loss, sickness, death, hunger, abuse and more. I have seen that in my special education classroom anxieties are high and so are behaviors. My students need more sensory items to help them calm themselves during the day and stay focused on the task at hand.
