To help my students learn amid the pandemic, I could use a comfortable listening center with audiobooks. This will help provide equity by having students at all reading levels access grade-level appropriate, engrossing literature. It will also help build resilient, engaged readers. Reading is empowerment! And by helping students succeed in reading they build the skills they need as they grow to be our future leaders. Covid has impacted students' ability to socialize and grow intrapersonal skills. This grant would allow students of every reading level to have access to rich literature to make connections with and to discuss and share their thoughts and ideas about the texts. When students relate to what happens in great books, it not only gives them the opportunity to advance their reading, vocabulary, and speaking abilities, it also develops their social and emotional connectivity to the material, to each other, and the world around them.
