Research has found that play enables children to progress in several learning domains, including language and literacy, social-emotional skills, and math. In addition, the World Economic Forum has said in recent years that "65% of children entering primary school today will ultimately end up working in completely new job types that don't yet exist." Beyond teaching my students the necessary reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, I want to help prepare them with the 4Cs (communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking) of learning at the forefront. It is my desire to prepare my students for a world demanding its workforce to think outside the box. I am part of laying the foundation to build the skills they will need to be part of a world demanding different skills than generations before them. With your help, the STEAM Park, story tales, OSMO coding , Legos and other resources will help me provide conditions for my students to get hands-on, critical learning through play and collaboration. These resources will help give my students an enhancement to their rigorous learning environment while also preparing them for the future.
