School closures the past year have limited my middle school students from experiencing in person and hands on science experiments. Since my students rely on American Sign Language for communication, learning through Zoom was not the best educational experience these past two years. This year has been a challenge to teach new concepts and reteach concepts from last year. Using these microscopes and telescope will help my deaf visual learners better understand middle school science concepts. Seeing space and science through the lens of a microscope and telescope will hopefully encourage more deaf and hard of hearing students to pursue the field of science.
