The students at Fillmore Elementary love to learn about new technology and coding. I am looking to help them further their knowledge about basic coding, engineering, and new technology in our classroom with some new resources. Right now, we have some very useful resources such as “Tello Drones” and “Spheros Robotic Balls” that we are not really able to use as we only have a few of each. This would not allow the students enough time to really learn them. I am looking to buy a few more of each so that the kids, while still sharing, can have adequate time to learn each device. These will help our older kids learn some more advanced coding while teaching the younger kids the basics. They are also able to build courses for them that will help them learn math and engineering. I am hoping that these tools will help encourage a fun and educational environment as they return back to a normal school structure. I am also hoping that this will allow them to build confidence in their own abilities while also helping student see how interesting, fun and rewarding a career in the STEAM field can be. While using these new resources, I plan on showing some different career paths and products that use advanced coding and technology and show them how it can positively change the world, and that they can change it too.
