My students live in the 2nd smallest county in the state. Economics and civic responsibility are just two of the things I stress to them. Unfortunately, some students are homeless, live in economically disadvantaged households and/or cannot understand civic responsibility because they haven't had many people do things for them. Something so small as me printing an assignment for them, can mean so much. As much as possible, I keep snacks because as growing adolescents, they are starving at the end of the day (lunch time is at 11). We practice civic responsibility by sanitizing our hands constantly and cleaning desks & chairs after each use. With almost 100 students that's a minimum of 100 times per day!! Please help me teach and model the concept that we are a global society. We must all support each other.
