While I love using games and game-style activities to teach the skills in a way that engages all students, coming by quality activities can be cost prohibitive in some cases. I do my best with what I have, but I would really appreciate having the ability to use and reuse these activities for years to come. I also have been struggling with teaching using novels, which is my go to, during this pandemic as I have two full ELA classes, but only one class set of novels; and with many of my sets, because they are well loved, I do not even have a full class set. I am hesitant to allow students to share the books, so I have had to get creative with my novel studies. It would go a long way to benefitting my students if I were able to replace some of these novels, as well as inject some new authors into my units!
