The decodable texts will give them the tools and mindset that will encourage them to read. The books will help build their mindset and give them the power to think "Yes I can learn to read." Not only are struggling readers, struggling to read but they are discouraged and have a fixed mindset at 5th and 6th grade. Giving them books that are easy to decode and help build their mindset is a win, win in the classroom.
