With the materials chosen, my students will have the opportunity to explore the world through music. This not only give them the chance to expand their vocabulary but it will also aid in their listening skills. Singing in a group while following along with written lyrics offers a fun way to practice choral reading and repeated reading. These skills are important reading activities that create fluency. Through music, children develop their executive skills. These skills allow children to remember, concentrate, and develop skills to finish a task. Through the different tones and rhythms students will be able to listen to the different sounds and then apply those listening skills to the sound letters represent. These materials will enhance their speech and speaking skills having the opportunity to express themselves through music. Music is an important part of children's development.
