Dyslexia is not a disease or unidentifiable physical condition, but a learning style. I will use the resources to reinforce strategies to help build better readers with explicit multisensory phonics instruction, syllabication/chunking words, and tactile activities like color-coding/textured writing. The Orton-Gillingham resources are all researched based and meet the requirements of the science of reading. Statistics show 1 in 5 students have learning differences called dyslexia. My goal and passion is to meet this reading challenge head-on and give every reader the tools needed to build a confident reader within the school setting or virtually.
