These pieces of specialized equipment help preschool students with disabilities be as successful as possible in the educational environment. Students with fine motor delays and sensory processing differences identified during preschool years need extra help to work on their kindergarten readiness. Adapted seating (e.g., cube chairs) provides better boundaries and helps them fully engage in classroom instruction. Sensory supports (e.g., compression vests, swings) assists them in staying better regulated and ready to learn. Special scissors (e.g., loop scissors) give them chances to be independent in using classroom materials. When these students can fully attend (watch) the instruction and get meaningful practice opportunities, then the progress they can make is amazing!
