My students will use these items to help them learn Geometry skills. They will be able to construct angles, polygons, and geometric nets. They will easily be able to identify faces, edges and vertices. Then they can see how these parts create the whole polygon. In our STEM class they will also use the items to construct different structures and learn building techniques. Manipulating helps my students understand key concepts and skills. Many of them are more comfortable manipulating an object and need to see 3-dimensional objects to understand all the parts of the object. As they develop an understanding of the 3-dimensional shape they transfer that knowledge to the 2-dimensional shape on paper.
