Most of us remember growing up in a time when we had to use our hands and imagination to help us learn. My goal for this project is to bring hands-on learning into my classroom by using math manipulatives along with the cooperation of technology to increase my student’s comprehension of math concepts. These hands-on materials will be used as a tangible tool to help my students with place value, fractions, measuring, time, modeling multiplication and many other purposes. Teaching students of today’s generation requires instructional exercises and activities that are innovative, interesting, and meet their learning needs. Supporting this project will empower me to engage my students in math activities that are meaningful and gratifying. This project will include activities that will improve my student’s mathematical comprehension which will in turn allow them to create a solid foundation of math concepts to better prepare them for the future.
