These books will allow me to introduce new authors and genres to my students through book clubs. Nothing is more powerful than reading a book you connect with along with others that feel the same way. We tell students the importance of reading independently. When we read we are improving our vocabulary but we lose out on the discussion. Whole class discussions are great for some students but not all. Book clubs provide every student the ability to read collaboratively and engage in meaningful discussion with a book they connect to. This Donor's choose will help me provide more students with the opportunity to become more authentic readers.
