WIth these items, students will be compelled to move and engage their bodies and minds in my ELA classroom. I already strive to create engaging, dynamic lessons; these tools will allow me to bring more productive movement into the classroom without creating distractions from the lessons at hand. The Karaoke Machine and presentation clicker will allow students to present while moving around and for students to continue to hear the presentation while the student is moving. The doorbell will allow for me to quickly capture the students’ attention in what is sure to be a noisy, active classroom. The wobble cushions and fidget bands will allow me to modify my current seating for students to experience movement while seated. The clipboards and discussion ball will allow students to be active in classroom discussions. The Sensory Path Stickers will allow me to create pathways for students to move through processes or information as they learn. The card game is a great tool to teach them how to follow instructions and allows for good movement and good discussion. My students’ learning will change as I will have more tools for them to be productive in their movement. Students who need to move will move or will become disengaged. However, with the right tools, environment, and activities, they can become fully engaged in their learning. These tools will allow for that to happen.
