WIth this year being unpredictable, students are yearning for routine and normalcy. I want my students to walk into our classroom and feel as if they are in a home away from home. With this project, I will be able to have light covers that mute the flourescent light, warm lamp lighting, a rug, and flexible seating. I will also get carpet dots that allow for social-distancing as we have carpet time. I want a classroom focused around building STEM skills. My students are always building and creating new things, and now I will be able to provide STEM activities for them to use. Students have had an increase in screen time in the past year and this will give them an opportunity to reignite their passion for building and engineering with different materials. Lastly, I will be able to get books for SEL read-alouds and for our classroom library. These books include culturally diverse books that represent my unique and diverse class. With this project I will also get books that cater to my students' interests and get them excited about reading.
