To help my students learn, there are a few things in our classroom that we use daily and need to be replaced because they’ve been quite “loved” for years and years. My AR (accelerated reader) library in the classroom is a little bare and I would love to begin a collection of AR books. I strive to instill a love of reading in my first graders whether in the classroom or at home. I would love to give them some new books to practice sight words, fluency and comprehension. I would send these books home and most of our parents have been very supportive in helping to ensure their child(ren) read at home. Finally, these first grade students love station time that we have daily for math and reading. Many times, I make the stations, laminate and cut out myself. It works, but I know they would be appreciative of some more new educational games to learn the current standards. Thank you for helping my fabulous first graders with these requests.
