Hello and welcome to my interactive math classroom. Math needs to be something that every student can do well. In order to accomplish this, I am working towards a fully interactive classroom. This requires lots of whiteboard space so that each student has the opportunity to practice. Studies have shown that students have associated doing problems on paper on their desks with negative thoughts and outcomes. Because of this, I will be putting up whiteboards for the students to work on. Every student will be able to see all boards easily and we will be able to discuss work as a class. A tall table will provide variation in seating as students move throughout the day. I have identified that students’ understanding of fractions was greatly impacted by the pandemic as they missed the time that was being taught so I have also added some items to assist with those concepts.
