My students are young learners who learn best by having a variety of learning styles and activities available to them. They enjoy creating, exploring and investigating. They like to use their hands to touch, learn about and build. They love to show me things they have discovered or created. They would be so excited to have a variety of hands-on materials and construction supplies that allow for building, exploration, and discovery. The supplies on my list would allow my students to create and investigate in new tactile ways. They could explore and investigate while engaging and interacting with each other. They would also be able to use these materials in learning literacy and math concepts such as letter building, digging for letters, measurement and more. These new materials will allow for student engagement and interaction with each other, while learning, and will help to foster more self-confidence and social skills.
