My learners need a space to work and learn together. We have two small rugs in our classroom now where we try to squeeze when we read together, greet each other in the morning, play math games, and so much more. Often times our rug space just isn’t enough for everyone to comfortably work and stretch out. Many learners prefer being on the rug to complete class work rather than sitting at their desks. When they are on the rug, they are sharing more with one another, working cooperatively, and growing their minds together. A new classroom rug would provide us with a greater opportunity to work as a classroom community. It will give my learners a happy space to go to work on the skills they need to move on to first grade.
