Subtraction is a fairly easy concept for most adults, but to a second grader, this can be quite difficult. With subtraction wrap ups, the child can solve subtraction problems at their own pace by wrapping a string around each key from the problem on the left to the answer on the right. The back of these keys have raised lines for the student to check their answers. As they begin to memorize their subtraction facts, they can progress to the next number key. The coins are used in our class shop. Students earn a certain amount of coins and create a budget to see if they have enough money to purchase items in our class shop. In other words, they are also receiving a lesson in economics!
