Every Friday our class conducts experiments and/or STEM challenges as a whole group. Having a STEM station (cabinet) in an accessible location in the classroom, students would be able to independently choose an activity of their choice during our instructional station rotation time each day. This would allow for each student to be able to choose STEM activities of interest. It would help to provide practice in not only the academic areas but would also address their need for collaboration, creativity, and more challenging, hands-on problem-solving skills. My students would love hands-on materials to use independently, with partners, or in small groups during Station Rotation. They love having the opportunity to work with each other and this would help keep their conversation task oriented. I would love to provide a variety of materials and resources that would inspire each and every student to create, explore, and challenge themselves. Since each child learns differently, having a variety of activities would allow them the opportunity to choose what is the most inviting and interesting to them, thus keeping them engaged throughout their exploration/ experiment and at the same time meeting their educational needs.
