I teach Biology & Zoology at the high school level. They love doing anything hands-on and it helps them retain the information! The requested safety googles and gloves are just the basic equipment we need in a growing science classroom.
The play-doh is used for many things - from moving chromosomes around during mitosis to building parts of an animal's anatomy. The test tubes are also used for many labs - from our pineapple enzyme lab to extracting DNA from split peas. The pulse oximeters are used during our scientific inquiry labs to determine how much oxygen our body still gets when wearing masks to our homeostasis lab to measure our heart rates. The rubberbands and tape measures are used during our ATP/energy activity.
The coloring pencils and sharpener, stapler and pencil lead are things we use every few days. The snacks/candy are given out to encourage participation and to give that extra little boost of energy after a long day. Last, but not least, the board/card games are to encourage them to get off their phones during their free time for a little competition.
