Middle school students need the opportunity to see visually how math and science work without turning to a computer video or assignment. COVID keeps kids from many experiences due to family stress, lack of time, and fear. By seeing heat transfer occur with popcorn poppers, watching the effects of dry ice, and using math manipulatives, my students will learn the math and science, as well as, develop the confidence in their ability to experiment and apply concepts to real life. As kids have to make it happen, they develop confidence and understanding.
