The materials that I have requested satisfy my students' intellectual stimulation, physical stimulation, and emotional safety. The class set of 'All American Boys' will help me teach the topic of social justice in our community. I have a teaching bundle that provides quizzes, journal writing ideas, and discussion questions for the unit but am in need of copies of the book so my students will all have one to follow along with. The possibility of having a mini-refrigerator and microwave in my classroom will be part of providing emotional safety for my students. Most of them eat lunch in my classroom and are to be escorted at all times. Knowing that their lunch can be stored in the classroom and/or having the ability to heat their lunch up is needed. Positive reinforcement is a large part of what I do with my students. The ability to have students earn Lego time in my classroom is needed. Building with LEGOs can be used in collaborative activities, individual seat work, and earned free time. Thank you for your consideration of these items to be used in my classroom. They are much needed.
