The students I teach are often restricted from the use of dangerous materials and many "hands-on" activities. By limiting the students to design and research on the software side allows students who otherwise would not have access to engineering and STEM design projects to engage in this process. With access to a 3D printer, these students will have access to bring their engineering and artistic design to life. As an added bonus the enclosed printing design will allow for their ideas to be printed in a safe manner and their results may be gifted when they leave the program as a positive reminder of the time they spent healing.
