Through my position I have been identifying the needs of the students at our school. It is clear that COVID has had a significant impact on their social and emotional learning abilities. My project will provide the tools necessary to target the social and emotional skills through building resiliency. I have selected a variety of items which will allow me to work with students one on one, in groups, and in the classroom setting. I have selected journals and DIY puzzles for social and emotional wellness. It is crucial that students learn how to express their emotions and feelings in a healthy way. Additionally, many students need a mental break which is spent in my room and for these reasons I have chosen puzzles, legos, blocks, and fidgets to provide manipulatives for their busy hands while they calm down and recognize how they are feeling. Please consider donating to my project so I can help students build the resiliency they need during these turbulent times. These items will be greatly cherished and effective for many students in the entire student body.
