COVID-19 has impacted us all in one way or another. These students have been directly impacted for all of their schooling careers. To help my students learn amid a pandemic, I could use hands-on manipulatives for math, reading, science and art to make my lessons more engaging. My students learn best when they are presented with visual models and plenty of chances to solve problems using a hands-on approach. My students will use magnetic tiles and wands for counting and learning. They will use the magnetic tiles for help with addition and subtraction. I will use magnet play to help children increase their language skills by teaching them new magnet-related words, names, and shapes. Magnet play can also help children develop their coordination skills, increase their fine motor skills, and learn a variety of problem-solving skills. Putting manipulatives into my students' hands will help them feel more connected to the lesson and aid in their learning. Children need the opportunity to be creative and show their learning in multiple ways. With the use of these art supplies, my students will be able to produce works of art and express themselves. These art supplies will provide my students with the opportunity to create, learn, explore, and represent their understanding of content in a creative way. We enjoy creating art and doing hands-on learning projects to help solidify what we have been learning in class.
