The students will complete a poetry project. They will learn about figurative language and all the aspects of rhymed and free verse poetry. My students will choose a poem from a list provided. They will analyze the poem, research the author, and memorize the poem. The students will then present their project to the class and recite it. The students will have a rubric as their guide. To gain the most out of this project, the students will need adequate supplies. The presentation easel , pencils, crayons etc... are essential!
