This would help the students in many ways. First it will give them the opportunity to use a different set of skills than traditional PE activities provide. It will help with hand eye coordination along with using a different muscle set. This will provide cardiovascular as well as the physical exercise they were deprived of while homeschooling. It will also address the issue of social distancing because it is a no contact sport and can be played inside or out. While many children enjoy traditional PE activities, others need the motivation of a mental challenge to spur them into physical activity. In addition this could be played on an individual basis or as a team making it easier for students to participate in a recreational activity on their own. I feel this is an excellent activity to introduce to my students and will benefit them for years to come.
