Due to COVID-19, students have not had consistent in-class learning. Therefore, it is more important than ever that I provide meaningful phonics activities that help them grow as spellers and readers. I will use the magnetic folders and tiles to provide explicit hands-on phonics instruction. These materials will be used to provide various activities depending on the students' ability level. We will use the letter tiles to identify letters and letter sounds, build CVC words, and for students who need more of a challenge we will build more complex words. Students also have not had as many writing experiences and it is imperative that I help them not only learn how to build and read words, but also help them learn to write letters and words. The LCD boards will provide an avenue to practice correct letter formation without the stress of staying in the lines. As students gain more fine motor control, we can then practice using the lined markerboards. Please help provide the magnetic tiles, folders, markerboards, and lcd writing boards, so every student has a hands-on way to practice spelling and writing. These materials will greatly enhance my student's literacy experiences, but I will also be able to use the markerboards and lcd writing tablets for math, science, and social studies.
