I work daily to help my students learn the skills that since Covid-19 they have not mastered. During the pandemic my students spent many days at home learning virtually. Math especially is hard to grasp that way. I work with students each day to help them get caught up. The students that sit with me at my small group table are struggling more than their peers. Flexible seating will help make them more comfortable, therefore allow them to concentrate on their work. Stress balls / fidgets will allow them another opportunity to move their bodies while their minds stay focused on grasping the content. Students need structure after being out of school so much these past couple years. As a teacher during these unprecedented times while establishing structure for them, I must do whatever I can to make my room more engaging thus facilitating their growth.
