Because of COVID-19, many live theater performances were delayed, moved, or canceled. One of the greatest factors in returning to live theater is doing it safely. By providing lavalier microphones for each solo performer, they will not have to share and pass them from one to another. These microphones are taped directly to a performer's face and are difficult to clean between performers. Not having to trade these between actors during a performance will allow students to safely present their theater pieces. Students will be able to concentrate on their production rather than worrying about their health. The comradery and support that a student receives as part of the cast of production impacts their whole lives. Returning to live theater will give these students lasting friendships and a sense of belonging while also teaching them life skills. Students gain confidence, empathy, leadership, and the ability to create and appreciate art in all forms.
