New microscopes could be used by the entire department, not just one teacher. We can look at cells, tissues, bone, blood, organs, hair, fibers, pond organisms, the list goes on! I would like the students to have experience using good microscopes before they go to college. Many of my anatomy students are interested in the medical field and the use and comfort of using microscopes would be very beneficial to them. My students get very excited when they are able to see their own cells for the first time. I want to instill scientific curiosity in them, a desire for lifelong learning.
