We will use these books to read in class. This will help my students expand their vocabulary and reading skills. We take 15 to 20 minutes to read a novel together every day. I am trying to help student love reading and see the enjoyment of a book club style reading. To love books, we have to read them. My students that are in 3rd grade are now beginning their path of becoming fluent comprehending readers. In the past they have been decoding to read. Now they are reading to comprehend. Teacher reads are an excellent way to help them transfer into novels. I want to instill in them the gift of reading!
