We will be using these calculators to explore modeling in our Secondary Math classes as well as in our A.P. Math classes to explore the content there in more depth. They will also allow us to have calculators to check out to students at home so that they can complete and explore valuable problems at home. The Utah State core likes secondary students to do modeling in their math classes. I think our students actually value this type of problem because it not only has them practicing specific skills, but they get to learn how to apply and use these skills. It shows them where the concepts are found in the real world, and how they are used. It makes lessons more meaningful to them. These calculators would contribute to making these types of problems a possibility!
