As a parent, I have gained a better perspective on how the pandemic has impacted our learners. I experienced virtual learning with my son when he was in kindergarten and first grade. In-person classroom instruction is the most beneficial means of providing our youth with the skills needed to scaffold upon their current knowledge, grow their social-emotional development, and provide differentiated learning opportunities to meet all learning styles. The student-centered learning stations will provide hands-on learning through dramatic play-based themes throughout the school year, imaginative play, cross-curricular learning in all core subject areas while supporting the needs of each child. This funding possibility would greatly support our kindergarten classroom’s safe and welcoming learning environment for all learners.
