It's crucial for students to have their foundations in reading and math established by the time they leave first grade to ensure future academic success. If they fall short, it will affect them in the years to come. The pandemic has greatly affected my students learning those foundations. I would love to give them a fighting chance... The supplies and tools requested will help my students continue on the path to finish first grade with the knowledge they need to achieve future academic success and overcome the effects of COVID-19. The items from amazon will serve as incentives that I can mail to them for finishing reading and math class challenges. The clear covers and markers would be amazing to send to them as well for reusable practice assignments. I can easily email them sheets they can print to use in the covers. The BrainPOP Jr. online program would be nice to have another way to sharpen their skills in a virtual format. Last but certainly not least, The iPad and Apple Pencil would be a dream come true for this teacher's heart. I create 95% of my virtual lessons from scratch. I like to make my own clipart and other effects to bring my lessons to life. These tools would allow me to make those customized elements my students so love with more ease and save me time. The extra effort I put into my lessons has increased participation which also increases learning making them more effective. Effective Lessons + Participation= Learning Thank you for this opportunity to touch the students' lives in ways that will be remembered for a lifetime!
