Autistic students can become overwhelmed easily and act out if frustrated. Having sensory items to help calm them down or keep them calm is very important in a school setting. Students will be able to choose from a variety of sensory items to help them redirect their thoughts and return to a place where they can continue to learn and grow as students. What one item may work for one student may not help another, so it is important to have a variety of items for them to choose from. We love all of our students and having items to help them feel calm and safe is essential in the school setting.
