My Chinese Dual Language Immersion students use Chromebooks as a technology tool to learn online materials and play interactive educational games on a daily basis. Each student would spend 20 minutes silently reading online books when the class starts. Some students struggled with Chinese characters and had a hard time reading. So, they would wear headphones to listen audiobooks. Because every student was reading silently, a little noise from an audiobook would sound really loud and disturbing.
The adjustable height desk is designed to create a positive learning environment for the students who have ADD/ADHD. It is a place for them to stand, to move and to learn without bothering the other students. The noise isolating headphones with microphones and the cool wireless earbuds are the win-win situations to solve the noise issues for my students. Not only do the earbuds help students enjoy listening to their audiobooks, but also create an independent reading environment for the whole classroom. They are able to use the lightweight microphones to communicate with their peers when they play educational online learning games.
