With virtual learning the need for students to see results in a more tangible way is more imperative than ever before. Less work is being printed and while the digital files save our forests it doesn’t provide students with the satisfaction of items they could produce in 3D format. Students are required to spend more time than ever before in front of a screen and more than ever before the need to connect computer work to a physical product and ignite excitement back into computer applications is essential. A 3D printer would help create a tangible result of student work and a connection between creativity software and basic coding. While students would still be using our computers as the basis of this learning experience, the 3D printer would provide the physical result that students could use to spot their mistakes and provide real-world problem-solving skills, class interaction, and discussion. It would provide ways to broaden spatial intelligence limited by only screen development. A 3D printer would help fire imagination in a world where excessive screen time has become the norm and provide fresh ways to help keep students engaged.
