These books will give my students access to a deeper understanding of history and the experiences of others as well as support in literacy. Both of these are essential parts of a student's education. Allowing them to practice this in the classroom with the support of a teacher and aides who can help them with the reading portion, and also guide them through historic situations. History is an essential and overlooked part of education right now; allowing access and emphasizing the shared experience of others will, I believe, make a significant impact on the lives of our students and the future of our nation. These books will serve as important tools in this process.
