They can choose the seat that is best for them. Students are able to move to different locations around the room and take comfort in what is best for them. When students are comfortable they will be more motivated to learn and be able to stay engaged. Allowing students to choose a seat in different locations will build a classroom community and teamwork. Flexible seating gives students choice and empowerment. I have selected to add chairs that be anywhere in the classroom and will hold students' Chromebooks while working on a variety of assignments. I have students that struggle to keep still and by adding bands to the legs of their chairs they will have something to do with their feet and able to focus. Students will be able to use headphones in various ways such as research and reading.
