As a counselor, I am often in contact with students who are in a heightened state of anxiety. Having a tool such as the iPad mini coupled with the stylus would be a great creative outlet to utilize the proven effective method of using our senses to reduce anxiety levels. Another great use of the iPad would be to download breathing apps to be used by a student in my office that will also facilitate reduced anxiety. Music that can be played on the iPad would also greatly benefit my students as they use the sense of hearing to reduce anxiety.
