I teach at a Title 1 school, that is located in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. We have a high poverty rate, were 9 out of 10 students live in a household that makes less then 30,000 dollars a year. This has a huge effect inside the classroom because students come to class ill prepared for the year. That is why my project features a wide range of supplies. In 2022, we have a lot of opportunities to work with different digital platforms. So therefore all students need headphones, so they can have the opportunity to improve academically. Covid 19 has also affected our teacher staff at school, and unfortunately we do not have an Art teacher. Therefore, I would love to give students the opportunity to improve their art skills with not only basic coloring supplies like crayons, markers and colored pencil, but as well as paint! Students are very rarely given the opportunity to grow artistically, so I hope to be able to provide that opportunity!
