The Essential Elements students need to have information provided in a variety of ways. Using hands on experiments will greatly improve their educational learning. Also, being able to hold the model and move the body system parts allows them to not only visually see it but to further their retention by experiencing it. Our students quite often get hand me down items providing them with new books and materials will help them to feel appreciated and buy into what we are doing. It allows them to feel like they have a vested interest in what we are doing and that they have the ability to reach their goals. In the special needs program we work a lot with different transitions, social skills, and reward programs. Having new resources will benefit the student experience and allow for growth.
