Learning and hearing music has been studied and shown to stimulate all areas of the brain. Being in music class will actually help the students do better in other academic areas of their lives. Music is not only helpful to the academics of children, it is also vital to their emotional wellbeing. It gives them another way to express themselves and sort out their feelings. We have a limited number of instruments in our classroom and so it is difficult have everyone participate. Creating Band Buckets is one way that all the students in my class can participate in learning musical instruments. In this era of Covid-19, it is easier to clean these buckets than other instruments are. And the students love learning the rhythmic and beat patterns of percussion instruments.
